Mammoth Cave National Park is an American public park in focal Kentucky, incorporating parts of Mammoth Cave, the longest cavern framework known on the planet. Since the 1972 unification of Mammoth Cave with the significantly longer framework under Flint Ridge toward the north, the official name of the framework has been the Mammoth–Flint Ridge Cave System. The recreation center was set up as a public park on July 1, 1941, a World Heritage Site on October 27, 1981, and a worldwide Biosphere Reserve on September 26, 1990.

The recreation center’s 52,830 sections of land (21,380 ha) are found essentially in Edmonson County, with little territories broadening toward the east into Hart and Barren provinces. The Green River goes through the recreation center, with a feeder called the Nolin River taking care of into the Green simply inside the recreation center. Mammoth Cave is the world’s longest known cavern framework with in excess of 400 miles (640 km) of studied passageways,[3][4] which is almost twice the length of the second-longest cavern framework, Mexico’s Sac Actun submerged cave.
